Announcements!
Since 2014, the VaSupportCalc project has provided free child and spousal support calculations for everyone in Virginia. It seems fitting that 10 years later (2024), we developed a similar child support calculator for West Virginia. Welcome!
Keep in mind we’re not attorneys. Our goal is to implement mathematics based on the West Virginia Code. So remember three important things. Be sure:
- To seek legal advice so you’ll know what information would go into the blanks in the statutory forms; and
- To test all results from this website against the actual statute. We’ve done a great deal of testing, but it will take a while for a meaningful amount of user testing to validate that the math and programming is correct.
- To notify us of any places where you think the math is incorrect.
Please DO NOT ask us for legal advice! We cannot provide any and we’ll immediately encourage you to talk to a lawyer. We can help with math, not with the facts of your specific legal situation!
Relevant Statutes and Other Resources
- Stay tuned! We hope to add some resources including statutes to assist with child support conversations. In the meantime, click here for the West Virginia statutes related to child support calculations.
Every effort has been taken to make the calculations provided by this site to be as accurate as possible.
However, the calculations require a legal understanding of what information goes into the formulas.
Your use of this site is for general guidance only and is NOT a substitute for obtaining legal advice. Nothing on this web site should be considered legal advice nor create even the appearance of an attorney/client relationship. Please consult an attorney for legal advice as it relates to your situation.
